World Multiple Sclerosis Day will be held on May 30.
A progressive neurological disease, multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of young adults (often diagnosed between the ages of 25 and 35), with a preponderance of women (75%). MS currently affects 115,000 people in France, including 700 children. 2500 new cases are diagnosed each year.
Over the past 15 years, active research in France and the many advances made in treatments have made it possible to slow down the evolution of the disease. At the same time, a network organization and individualized access to care close to home are now offered to patients, to help them in their daily life, in the management of their symptoms and by helping them on the social, moral and material levels.
