Reflections and proposals on reducing and rationalizing the carbon footprint
Today, combating climate change and preserving the environment has become a prerequisite for corporate development strategies. To do this, they need to assess their footprint, and sort out the practices of the past from those that need to be applied to finally change their harmful impact.
In order to share the interest of the work carried out by companies and the academic world, a seminar for the exchange of practices brought together the Ecole Polytechnique and the Académie des Sciences; EDF, Vinci, Saint Gobain, Aéroport de Paris and various industrial and academic players presented their methodological approaches and their desire to make progress on these subjects.
This book is the result of this seminar, and provides an overview of the current situation in this field. It is based, on the one hand, on the reflections and initial experiments carried out by companies in various sectors and, on the other, on an open exchange with academics and sector experts involved in environmental footprint analyses. With the presentation of their analyses, interviews and summary points, you'll find here answers to all your questions concerning the impact of companies on the environment, their objectives, their resources and their projects towards sustainable energy transition.
