The seminar organised every year by the GERDA (Group for Study and Research on Dermatology and Allergies) brings participants up to date on the progress made in skin biology and immunology, which is essential for an understanding of dermatology and allergy studies.
The idea is to provide practical information concerning clinical and professional dermatology and allergy studies and to give overviews of the more basic subjects of immunology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology and cellular biology.
This book is devoted primarily to the pathology of the hand in dermatology. This is a complex subject that calls for rigorous semiological knowledge, targeted diagnostic procedures and an overall approach to each individual case, including both prevention and treatment.
The importance of multidisciplinary cooperation for better management of the numerous problems related to contact dermato-allergy studies is brought to the fore. The viewpoints of the pneumologist, the ENT specialist, the industrial doctor and even the computer expert add further depth to the analysis.
Finally, the book puts forward a panorama of the most important progress made during the past year in dermatochemistry, new information on the physiopathology of contact eczema, latest findings about urticaria, and so on.
